Simply register for an account and input the company names or stock symbols of your choice.
You will receive real-time "buy/sell" signals that are derived from social media data.
Does this service provide stock signals?
Yes, signals for up to 5 stock symbols are provided for basic memberships. Pro web accounts have a 200 symbol limit and Pro API and Pro software accounts have no symbol limits.
Does this service provide real-time social media alerts?
Yes, however, real time alerts require a Pro membership subscription.
If the social media "mood" graph goes up, does that mean it's time to buy stocks?
Not necessarily. Although there is a strong correlation with mood, there exists a 3-day lag and the relationship is nonlinear. Wall Street Birds uses mood along with several emotions plus many other formulas derived from social media data in order to generate stock signals.
Is this service associated with Twitter?
Our service uses Twitter and other social media data sources to calculate buy/sell signals for stocks, however we are not associated with those companies.
Do I have to install software?
No software installation is required for the web version of Wall Street Birds. Professional software is available however.
Yes, all web features work on iPad, in addition to any tablet, desktop or laptop computer.
Can social media really predict the stock market?
Scientists published a white paper titled "Twitter mood predicts the stock market" in October of 2010. Johan Bollen; Huina Mao; Xiao-Jun Zeng (2010). "Twitter mood predicts the stock market". Journal of Computational Science 2: 1–8.
Our sister company Modulus Financial Engineering, Inc. and possibly others were already working on trading systems based on global mood as early as 2004, by programmatically crawling Internet message boards. Such trading systems were improved by the popularization of social media.
Wall Street Birds servers use A.I. to extract emotions from social media messages in ten languages including English, Chinese (Mandarin), Spanish, Arabic, Hindi, Bengali, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese and German.
The emotion definitions are based partially on the work of Professor W. Gerrod Parrott.
Parrott, W. G. (Ed.). (2001). Emotions in Social Psychology. Philadelphia: Psychology Press.

Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations, some of which are described below. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses. No hypothetical performance results are shown because in fact, there are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical performance results and the actual results subsequently achieved by any particular trading program. One of the limitations of hypothetical performance results is that they are generally prepared with the benefit of hindsight. In addition, hypothetical trading does not involve financial risk, and no hypothetical trading record can completely account for the impact of financial risk in actual trading, for example, the ability to withstand losses or to adhere to a particular trading program in spite of trading losses are material points which can also adversely affect actual trading results. There are numerous other factors related to the markets in general or to the implementation of any specific trading program which cannot be fully accounted for in the preparation of hypothetical performance results and all of which can adversely affect actual trading results. It is important to understand that "day trading" is not considered investing, rather it is speculating. As with any form of speculation, there are significant risks. Day trading is fast paced and may lead to large financial losses.

API is an abbreviation for application programming interface, which is a set of routines, protocols and tools designed to help programmers build software applications.
The Wall Street Birds API makes it possible to develop trading programs by providing all the building blocks. A programmer can put the blocks together to create a custom trading application, which can then be used in a professional setting.
The API can be used for anything from personal trading to advanced high frequency trading. This is possible because the system operates in real-time. Signals are generated only a few milliseconds after the prices are updated at the stock exchange.
Your custom program may be used to place discretionary trades, to trade automatically (automated trading) or your broker may use the program to manage your account on your behalf.
Note that if you are not a programmer, but would like help with building a custom trading application, we may be able to help you..
Complete API documentation for programmers can be found here.
What type of technology is used?
The Wall Street Birds Cloud-based GPGPU servers process nearly one trillion calculations daily, powered by our patent-pending artificial intelligence trading system engine. The system also utilizes complex event processing (CEP).
